Welcome to www.bigfishfriends.com (“Website”), operated by AJ’s Big Fish Friends (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or booking any of our services through this Website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our services.

 

1. Booking and Payment

  • All bookings are subject to availability and will be confirmed only after receiving a deposit or full payment as agreed upon.

  • Full payment is required prior to the start of the fishing trip unless otherwise arranged.

  • Accepted payment methods: bank transfer, credit/debit card, or cash (on-site, if previously approved).

2. Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations more than 15 days before arrival: 100% refund

  • Cancellations 7–15 days before arrival: 50% refund

  • Cancellations less than 7 days before arrival: no refund

  • No-shows or early departures are non-refundable.

  • If AJ’s Big Fish Friends cancels the trip (due to weather, emergencies, etc.), a full refund or alternative dates will be offered.

3. Included Services (All-Inclusive Packages)

Packages may include:

  • Airport pick-up/drop-off (from Barcelona, Reus, Lleida, or Madrid*)

  • Accommodation with direct river views

  • Use of fishing equipment: rods, reels, landing nets, unhooking mats, etc.

  • Bait: Depending on season — 5 to 20 kg/day halibut pellets and/or approx. 10 kg cooked maize

  • Fishing license & regional permits

  • Use of 15hp boat and/or belly boat with sonar

  • Two meals per day (breakfast or lunch + dinner) from selected local restaurants

  • Guiding by AJ for up to 12 hours/day

*Transfers from/to Madrid carry an additional €150 fee (one way).

4. Client Responsibility

  • Clients must hold valid travel insurance and a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or equivalent.

  • Use of personal fishing gear or bait is allowed, but we cannot guarantee results with non-local or unfamiliar brands.

  • If bringing your own boat or belly boat*, it must be insured and registered with a valid CHE number (processing time: ~15 days). Ask us for help with this process.
    *Note: CHE registration is not required for man-powered belly boats without electric motors.

  • You are responsible for your personal safety and belongings during the trip. We are not liable for loss, theft, or injury caused by careless behavior or non-compliance with safety rules.

  • You must have your licenses with you at all times while fishing. These will be handed out upon arrival.

  • You are required to comply with all national and local fishing laws and regulations. These rules will be explained and provided upon arrival. A compliance form must be signed.

  • AJ’s Big Fish Friends is not responsible for any fines, issues, or legal consequences arising from violations of local laws committed by you.

  • A refundable security deposit of $250 (cash) will be collected on arrival. In the case of damaged or lost equipment, the replacement cost will be deducted from this deposit and/or charged upon departure.

  • Drug use is strictly prohibited.

  • In cases of excessive alcohol abuse, we reserve the right to terminate the session or, in severe cases, cancel the remainder of your trip without refund, to protect the safety of you, others, and the wildlife.

  • AJ’s Big Fish Friends is not responsible for late arrivals or early departures and no compensation or refundwill be issued for lost time.

5. Guiding & Safety

  • AJ provides guiding for a minimum of 6 hours/day, unless agreed otherwise.

  • Safety instructions will be given before any boat or equipment use.

  • Clients must follow all safety protocols.

  • We reserve the right to cancel, reschedule, or adjust trips in case of bad weather, unsafe conditions, or equipment problems.

6. Liability Disclaimer

  • All boats and guides are insured.

  • However, AJ’s Big Fish Friends is not responsible for accidents, injuries, or deaths resulting from negligence, unsafe behavior, or failure to follow safety instructions.

  • Participation in fishing and boating activities is entirely at your own risk.

7. Website Use

  • All content on this Website (text, images, videos, logos) is the property of AJ’s Big Fish Friends and may not be copied or used without written permission.

  • We reserve the right to update or change these Terms & Conditions at any time. Your continued use of the Website constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

8. Privacy

Your personal data will be handled with confidentiality and used only for managing bookings and communications regarding your trip.
